This was my last show as an undergraduate at Eastern Illinois University in spring of 2022. This was my first time as a prop master. I enjoyed the process of budgeting, talking with designers and directors, and finally, actually making the props. The biggest challenge for me at the time was the amount of things in the script and the amount of backups needed for the run. As previously stated, I had never been a prop master before and had many things to learn. I was extremely glad to be able to do that in my undergraduate program
Scenic Designer: Christopher Gadomski
The portfolio was made out of craft foam and cardboard. The craft foam was the covered in crumpled tissue paper and modpodge. The paper was then painted to simulate leather on a very tight budget.
Another angle of portfolio.
Portfolio with bound pages seen inside.
I added some set dressing as well, like the lace and the book. There will be more examples throughout the portfolio.

This was my first attempt at binding pages ever.
This is a finished outside of the journal at the end of the run. She is a bit beat up at this point but looks good despite it.
Scripts for the sisters as well as wooden swords.
The swords were made by putting wood through a plainer several times to get it mthin. Then they were drawn out and cut on a band saw. The edges of the blades were thinned using a belt sander. The cross guard is just a scrap piece cut, sanded, and drilled through. Finally, the hilt was turned on a lathe and drilled into. then the pieces were glued together. Finally, the sword was stained with

The Christmas tree was a regular plastic Christmas tree that I made look more realistic and made stand up on its own.
to get the branches to stand up, each branch is wired to the one above it to hold it up. The bottom side of the tree did not get wired up and just stayed flat. Something that had to be added after the first night of the show was a broom handle strapped to the trunk of the tree on the bottom side. During the first show, the top of the tree snapped in half above where the tree was already epoxy-
The trunk of the tree is EVA foam, a chunk of pink insulation foam, and gaff tape. The entire thing was then base pained and then dry brushed in several layers
Flower made droopy, Tea set found.
Photoshopped Dance Cards for Meg and John. Printed on card stock.
Petite Fours made out of insulation foam
A very crude petite fours and truffle that Jo brings home from the dance for her younger sisters. They appeared for a very short moment.
The fruit basket is something I was very proud of. The fruit is just glued down to a piece of cardboard and comes out in a clump. The cloth was glued to the basket and remained in the basket. At intermission, the crew pulls out the fruit cardboard, and puts flowers in for the end of the show.
The map joe is looking at was hand drawn last minute. The ordered map did not arrive until after the production closed and a day before opening, I last minute drew and distressed the map.
Different angle of the map of Europe that was drawn after the 1860s map of Europe.
Necklace for the princess.
Rainbow kite. This was made out of 2 dowel rods, twine, muslin thread and paint. I did not enjoy this project and view it as my weakest link in the show.
Jo's finished book.
Desk reinforced and added to.
This is a painting of Louisa May Alcott, the author of Little Women, painted by her real life sister, the inspiration for Amy, Abigail May. While these are slightly out of the wrong date for the play, the director and I both liked the idea of having these paintings in the play. All of the paintings from the show are by this artist.
Many of the paintings seen back there.
The 2 faux embroidery pictures were just found on google and fitted for their frames in photoshop.
